I am so excited about your new book! It seems like we have very similar climates, as here in Portugal our summers are long and rainless, forever haunted by a never-ending fire season. I LOVE receiving you emails and taking notes, because you gardening advice fits my bioregion like a glove 🐞

Thank you for all that you do, and good luck with your new writing adventure! I can't wait to see it!

With bird chirpings and oak leaves,

Cat

aww thank you so much Cat!! I love that my suggestions can be applied to your garden too! In fact, it makes total sense - when I visited Portugal (one of my favourite places!) I saw heaps of eucalypts absolutely thriving!! so so cool and surreal seeing them on the other side of the globe - I think I saw a bunch in Sintra from memory?

Definitely possible! Sintra is a special place, with its very own microclimate, so water-loving plants thrive there, but I can totally picture eucalyptus calling it home. I am in the center, so much drier, and there are a bunch of eucalyptus on my hill, too. And wattle, which tends to get a tad too comfortable around here and needs some controlling. Wishing you a beautiful week, Casey! 🍃

Hehe ohh yes I bet wattle would spread so easily once it finds a spot it likes - I love the smell of wattle blossoms so much! Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week too! ☺️☺️

Even though I live in a cool climate in Australia, I’m really looking forward to reading your book. I spend every spare minute I can in my garden.

Digging, planting, harvesting. My garden feeds my soul and I’d be a miserable shitty person if I couldn’t garden!😂

You better get writing cos I need this book now 😂! Well in a couple of months time when I finally take possession of my new build! It’s in an ‘eco village’ but the laneway I’m on has very little green so it’s my goal to introduce trees, veggies, flowers and wildlife! Can’t wait, but am totally daunted by the blank canvas! All I have is a Subpod and a few trees in pots desperate to break free of their plastic confines 🌳🪴🌱🫠
