Pockets of perfection, yes!! I have a habit of seeing other peoples perfect pockets and assuming that they represent their entire lives haha I’m working on reminding myself that we all have pockets that are perfect and pockets that are a total shambles and that’s the way life (and motherhood!) is - it’s quite a relief!
My fave bit “Because if you think you’re growing a garden ‘to feed your family healthy, homegrown meals’, ‘to wander outside and pick a bouquet of flowers for the table’ or ‘to create a natural space that is beautiful to be in all year round’ then I have news for you. These are high distinction goals, and while they are perfectly achievable, they are beyond the scope of today’s newsletter.
Today’s newsletter is not about attaining the lofty heights of gardening perfection.
Casey, your writing is so inspiring and thought provoking. I don’t have young children anymore and yet I struggle to commit the time to be in my garden. There’s always something else to do and the garden seems like a luxury (I’m totally working on this mentality)
I’m heading over to the shed today to where our bricks are stored to see what we have that I can use. I froth over your path bricks all the time, they’re divine. I’m going to start acting out some planning rather then it all being in my head.
Aw Tanya what kind words!! Thank you! I’m so pleased you’re enjoying my newsletter 🥰 and I’m the same, it’s so easy to put off stuff in the garden, my grandad always used to say ‘the hardest part is taking the first step out the door’ and I feel like it’s true for so many things. I like those 5 minute tasks as little circuit breakers to get the gardening cogs whirring again, I find once I do something small the rest starts to come much more easily. Let me know how your brick planning goes! Xx
I’m a huge advocate for “pockets of perfection” to soothe my type A personality. Haha. Little spots I can focus on in the mayhem of Motherhood

Today we are too busy. “
